February is Teen Dating Awareness Month

Did you know?
1 in 10 high school students has been purposely hit, slapped, or physically hurt by a boyfriend or girlfriend.

RESPOND and the Wakefield Police Department invite you to attend a workshop geared towards parents and caregivers of preteens and adolescents. Teen Dating Violence is far too common. 1 in 3 teens in the U.S. is a victim of physical, emotional, or verbal abuse from a dating partner.

Only 33% of teens who are in an abusive relationship ever tell anyone about the abuse. At this workshop you will learn the warning signs of abuse and how to talk to your kids about healthy relationships. Come and meet the RESPOND Domestic Violence Counselor assigned to the Wakefield Police Department and officers of the Police Department that work with families and children.
