Medical Assisting
Summary
Healthcare is one of the fastest-growing industries in the United States, creating a strong demand for multi-skilled, credentialed health professionals. To meet this need, students enrolled in the Northeast Medical Assisting Program engage in a rigorous and comprehensive curriculum that integrates therapeutic, diagnostic, and administrative competencies in alignment with the Massachusetts DESE Chapter 74 Medical Assisting Frameworks.
Through simulated labs, classroom instruction, and hands-on clinical externships, students develop professionalism, critical thinking, and communication skills aligned with industry and state standards. Upon completion, students are prepared to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) examination, and may also earn supplemental credentials. Graduates are equipped with the technical and professional skills necessary for immediate employment in hospitals, outpatient clinics, and physicians’ offices, or for postsecondary education in nursing and allied health programs.
