Name: Hector Argueta Santizo
Hometown: Chelsea
CTE Shop: Automotive Technology
Favorite class: Engineering Tech
One skill/lesson you’ve learned at Northeast that you’ll take with you: Basic automotive maintenance; and it is possible to find an incredibly supportive community within your shop; this includes building long-lasting friendships
A person who has inspired you to be your best: Mr. Vasquez - my junior year teacher. The ways in which he mentored and taught us turned learning into fun and memorable moments. No matter how hard the automotive job at hand would be, he would challenge us to tackle it with a positive mindset.
Favorite quote: “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” - Theodore Roosevelt
Plans after graduation: Fortunately, I have verbally secured a position working for Ryder Trucks for right after graduation. Before I turn 18, I will be working under a mentor who will be teaching me about how to troubleshoot truck issues such as brakes, fluids, etc. Once I turn 18, I will be eligible to train for a Diesel Technician position. I look forward to this opportunity. I will also continue to work part-time as a drum teacher at Elohim Music School for the years to come.

On Monday, September 15, members of Culture Connect volunteered at Chelsea’s annual Taste of Chelsea event, a community fundraiser raising awareness and support for survivors of domestic violence. Congratulations to our student volunteers Miracula Pierre Jules, Juliana Arevalo, Nicole Abrego Rosales, Dayna Garcia, Onejerly Exavier, Katherine Mejia Romero, and Melany Ralda-Barillas (pictured below, left to right) for representing Northeast with pride and service.

Plumbing juniors successfully installed six spin weld fittings on polypropylene tanks for the Northeast food truck. Working in pairs, students drilled precise holes and used a high-speed router to melt the fittings into place. The project required accuracy, as any mistake would have meant ordering a new tank, and the students achieved 100% success.

Congratulations to Noah DiPiero (Saugus), a sophomore in Auto Tech, who has been selected to participate in the 2025-2026 Boston Globe High School Sports Photo Program. As part of this opportunity, Noah will submit his best sports photos and captions to the Globe for use in its high school sports coverage. Be on the lookout for Noah’s photos highlighting Knights athletics this year.

Northeast receives Title I funding from the U.S. Department of Education, which supports public schools in helping all students meet high academic standards. In compliance with the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), Northeast has developed a School Title 1 Family Compact outlining the shared responsibilities of school, families, and students in supporting success.
Our Northeast Family Compact outlines shared responsibilities:
-
Educators / Staff: Teach with state frameworks, set clear expectations, return work promptly, share progress, and ensure a safe, supportive environment.
-
Parents/Guardians: Ensure attendance, support assignments, encourage learning, and communicate with staff.
-
Students: Attend daily, complete work responsibly, respect others, and stay committed to learning.
Together, we support student achievement and a school culture where every student can thrive.
On Friday, September 12, families were sent our Family Compact and questionnaire to review, and it was also made available on our website. At your earliest convenience, please complete the compact and questionnaire.
For questions, contact Joseph Papagni, Title I Coordinator, at 781-246-0810 x1607 or JPapagni@northeastmetrotech.com.

Students are expected to engage in learning opportunities in each class/shop throughout the school day. Cell phones and smartwatches distract students from participating in lessons, completing assignments, contributing to class discussions, and collaborating with teachers and classmates. Unsanctioned cell phone/smartwatch use during instructional time is prohibited. All learning spaces, including classrooms and shop areas, are equipped with cell phone holders, where students must place their silenced devices upon arrival. Violations, including unauthorized photographing or video recording, may result in disciplinary action. Students are permitted to use their devices during lunch.
Emergency calls by students should be made in an administrative office, and families should contact Office A at (781) 246-0810 ext. 1644 for individual student needs. Headphones/earbuds may be used for educational purposes only; otherwise, students should remove them. Bluetooth speakers are not allowed in the building.

All student vehicles parked on Northeast Metro Tech property must have a parking sticker properly displayed (affixed to the windshield above the inspection sticker on the passenger side). Detailed student parking information and expectations can be found by viewing this document.
