Name: Juliana Arevalo
Hometown: Chelsea
CTE Shop: Business Technology
Favorite class: Business Technology is my favorite class because I’ve benefitted from numerous opportunities that most students like me don’t get to experience, including traveling for DECA, collaborating more with my community, and meeting people with professional careers. Living in Chelsea, I never imagined to experience all these moments that I will always cherish. This is a space where I feel supported, accomplished, and incredibly fortunate to be.
One skill/lesson you’ve learned at Northeast that you’ll take with you: I’ve learned to better advocate for myself and others here at Northeast Metro Tech. I began my freshman year as a quiet and shy student and throughout my time here, I grew to become more proactive and aware of how necessary self-advocating is. I will continue to utilize this skill throughout my personal life and career to not only represent myself, but my community as well.
A person who has inspired you to be your best: My mom, who as a Northeast Metro Tech alumni, demonstrated how attending this school and making an effort in your work is a path towards success. She is a strong-willed role model and leader for our family and our community, who showed me how working hard can lead you to achieve.
Favorite quote: My favorite quote is “You do not yield,” - Kingdom of Ash, Sarah J. Mass because it indicates not giving up when you face obstacles and to continue to persevere through it.
Plans after graduation: I intend to attend a four year college, majoring in political science to follow a pre-law path. My aspiration is to become a prosecutor, then later transitioning into politics. I would like to use my voice to advocate for students like me to be able to have the same experience I have had at Northeast.

Publication Opt-Out
FERPA allows NEMT to release certain information about students with parent/guardian consent provided that annual notification has been given and the school does not have on file written denial to release this directory information. Directory information is generally not considered harmful or an invasion of privacy if released. The primary purpose of directory information is to allow NEMT to include information from students’ education records in certain school publications. Examples include:
- A playbill, showing a student’s role in a drama production;
- The annual yearbook;
- Honor Roll or other recognition lists;
- Graduation programs; and
- Sports activity sheets, such as for football, showing weight and height of team members.
Complete the form below only if you would like to opt your student out of publications. Please know that this will impact your student's inclusion (name and photo) in school publications such as the yearbook.
Military Directory Opt-Out
Federal law requires local education agencies (LEAs) receiving assistance under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965, as amended (ESEA), to provide military recruiters, upon request, with the following information – names, addresses and telephone listings – unless parents/guardians have advised the LEA that they do not want their student’s information disclosed without their prior written consent. NEMT identifies the following as directory information:
- a student’s name;
- address;
- telephone listing;
- date and place of birth;
- major field of study;
- dates of attendance;
- class;
- degrees;
- honors and awards; and
- post-high school plans.

Wednesday, September 24, is a scheduled 2-hour delay for professional development. Buses will arrive two hours later than their regular arrival time. The academic blocks for the day will be C, D, A, and B.
|
Students are expected to engage in learning opportunities in each class/shop throughout the school day. Cell phones and smartwatches distract students from participating in lessons, completing assignments, contributing to class discussions, and collaborating with teachers and classmates. Unsanctioned cell phone/smartwatch use during instructional time is prohibited. All learning spaces, including classrooms and shop areas, are equipped with cell phone holders, where students must place their silenced devices upon arrival. Violations, including unauthorized photographing or video recording, may result in disciplinary action. Students are permitted to use their devices during lunch.
Emergency calls by students should be made in an administrative office, and families should contact Office A at (781) 246-0810 ext. 1644 for individual student needs. Headphones/earbuds may be used for educational purposes only; otherwise, students should remove them. Bluetooth speakers are not allowed in the building.
|
|
Bus routes and schedules are available on the NEMT website under the Parents & Students tab. Students should arrive at their bus stop 10-15 minutes before the scheduled pickup time.

Mornings can be challenging, with heavy traffic on Farm Street, Hemlock Road, and nearby streets. Students and families are encouraged to leave home early enough for students to be in their homeroom before 7:45 a.m. For everyone’s safety and to keep traffic moving, please pull forward to the triple doors by the gymnasium for drop-off and pick-up.

The parking lot across from Landrigan Field (formerly J Lot) is exclusively for Wakefield Memorial High School students. Vehicles parked in this lot without a WMHS hanging placard are subject to towing per the Town of Wakefield.
In the Landrigan Field parking area, only marked spaces may be used. Parking in front of the field gate, within crosswalks, in marked fire lanes, or blocking entrances and exits are subject to ticketing or possible towing.
Parking on Hemlock Road, Farm Street, and surrounding neighborhood streets is allowed unless posted otherwise. Please be respectful by not blocking or partially blocking residential driveways.
All drivers are reminded to operate vehicles safely and remain under 15 mph while on school property.

At this time, parking spaces allotted for students have been filled. Grade 12 students who complete the Student Parking Application Form (using their Northeast email account) will be added to a waitlist. Students in good standing, as approved by their dean, will be contacted in the order of submission if additional spaces become available. We aim to make as many spaces available to students as possible.
Please note: The form must be completed using the student's Northeast email account. Students will be required to enter their driver’s license number, vehicle information (make, model, color, and year), and license plate number, and upload a copy of their valid Massachusetts driver’s license and vehicle registration.
Parking spaces reserved for students are located in sections A and A2 on this image. All student vehicles parked on Northeast Metro Tech property must have a parking sticker properly displayed (affixed to the windshield above the inspection sticker on the passenger side). Detailed student parking information and expectations can be found by viewing this document.

Families are encouraged to have frequent conversations about their student's growth and development to support their ongoing success. To guide these conversations and monitor student attendance and grades, students and families should log in to Aspen regularly. Students and parents/guardians have individual accounts with access to different resources, so parents should not share their accounts with their student. Students should click the "Sign in with Google" button to access their accounts, while parents should use their assigned username and password.
For support using and navigating Aspen, take a moment to review the Aspen Parent Portal Information document and video, which can also be found under the Parents & Students tab on the NEMT website. Families in need of Aspen support should contact us at nex2@northeastmetrotech.com.
